The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Natural Resources/Bio-Control is recruiting for: PROFESSIONAL I/BI0-CONTROL ENTOMOLOGIST [HR-23-135] (Full-time/Lapwai) . To increase the capacity and expertise of the Nez Perce Biocontrol Center (NPBC) by taking the lead in planning and execution of biological control organism rearing and monitoring activities for newly approved or limited-in-supply biocontrol agents and will develop new field insectaries for future agent redistribution efforts through habitat matching. Greenhouse, laboratory, and outside garden agent rearing is the focus of this position but will include other biocontrol agent collection and redistribution efforts from rearing gardens and from field insectary site. Will include monitoring of biological control organisms and their impacts on noxious weed populations, the collection, identification and curation of specimens (plant and animal), the establishment of permanent monitoring plots, utilizing GPS and ArcGIS technology to map bio-control organism release locations, be the lead in compiling and entering bio-control release information into the Agent Release Database, produce reports and provide supervision to greenhouse and laboratory personnel. Requires bachelor’s degree in related field. Related field and/or course work requirements are defined in job expectations. Technical experience in related field preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Class/job description available at the NPT Human Resources Department.
